
Free community event to educate and protect female athletes of all ages!
Civic Centre, Strathmore Alberta
You are invited to join us for an interactive event with a focus on supporting our local female athletes!
The 2026 FAST event will provide participants and guests an opportunity to interact in person, providing knowledge of where to find professional resources and how to develop new relationships fostering a stronger healthier female athletic community.

We will be promoting this event with the funds by our sponsors. Your support will fund the marketing campaign including, but not limited to, 104.5 More Country in Strathmore, Strathmore Times and Strathmore NOW, Global News Calgary for print, digital and radio ads, and radio interviews to make the event known to the community. Sponsorship funding will also be used to cover the material costs (posters, programs, signage, rentals, etc) as well as participant merchandise and giveaways.

We hosted five incredibly talented local athletes - Charlotte Monaghan, Calgary Netball League Director; Kate Alexander, UoC Dinos; Kiira Saarenoja, Sprint Canoe Kayak; Angelina Palardy, Calgary Rage; Erin Walton B.Kin., Calgary Rage.

KEYNOTE TALK: "Growing Support for Female Athletes: It Takes a Village"
Teresa grew up being a multi-sport athlete; highly competitive in volleyball, basketball, team handball, track and field, and baseball. She founded Unleash Sports Management where she represents and consults with athletes along with organizations, teams, etc. Sports business along with advocating for girls and women in sport is her passion.

Nicole graduated with a diploma in Natural Nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2015.
She has gained vast experience in the last 9 years by working with clients, helping them creating healthy habits, and developing meal plans to help obtain these goals.
Nicole also operated a local business "Back to Good Market."
Nicole will be presenting a talk called "Consistency beats Perfection."

Erin has always had a keen passion for sports, starting as a student athletic trainer of the Cougars Women’s Basketball team.
She has been playing football since 2002, most notably with the Calgary Rage team and Team Canada (2010 & 2013 - Silver Medalist at IFAF Women’s World Championship), Team Alberta (2016 - Bronze in Women’s Canada National Cup) and was included in the 2022 Team Canada try-outs.
Erin loves applying her education, life-experiences and athletic background to help people improve their quality of life by getting more active & will be speaking on the topic of RESILIENCY & will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel.

Kiira will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!
She is a current member of Team Alberta for Sprint Canoe Kayak and former national level Artistic Swimmer. Two-time National Champion in Artistic Swimming and 2025 Canada Summer Games Silver medalist in C1 500m! 🥈

Kate will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!
Kate played hockey for the University of Calgary Dinos as a goaltender. In addition to hockey, Kate was a multi sport athlete through high school, including rugby, soccer, and curling.

Seeing a need in the community to provide help for athletes and others to cope with head injuries and concussions, Brent has been internationally certified as a Concussion Management Practitioner Specialist.
Brent has been an RMT since 2005 and is recognized as foremost Radial Shockwave Therapist for Alberta, Canada, inclusive of treatment in paravertebral muscles, trigger points and fascia. He has always focused on chronic pain management and repetitive strain injuries within the sporting and occupational sectors.
Brent will be speaking on Concussion Risk Management.

Angelina will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!
Angelina has been playing tackle football since 2011, competing with teams such as the Chestermere Chiefs, Strathmore Spartans, SCFA Badgers, and currently the women’s Calgary Rage, where she's played multiple positions with a focus on running back and linebacker.
In addition to her playing career, she now coaches with the U16 female Wildcats and William Aberhart High School, sharing her passion for football and helping young athletes grow on and off the field.

Charlotte will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!
Charlotte is a netball enthusiast, currently acting as the Calgary Netball League Director.
She will be sharing her thoughts on providing women of all ages with a supporting and active community!
