Free community/family event to educate and support female athletes of all ages!

Civic Centre, Strathmore Alberta

You are invited to join us for an interactive event with a focus on supporting our local female athletes! 

  

It is designed to showcase the resources available to female athletes of all ages, and their families/biggest supporters! 


The event will feature:

  • a selection of speakers and keynote speaker highlighting how to support our athletes
  • an interview panel of female athletes to discuss their experiences
  • local sports associations with interactive booths (skills tests, team info, etc)
  • local vendors/businesses attending with a focus on supporting our local female athletes.
  • food trucks and snacks
  • door prizes


The 2026 FAST event will provide participants and guests an opportunity to interact in person, providing knowledge of where to find professional resources and how to develop new relationships fostering a stronger healthier female athletic community.

KEYNOTE TALK: "Growing Support for Female Athletes: It Takes a Village"


Teresa grew up being a multi-sport athlete; highly competitive in volleyball, basketball, team handball, track and field, and baseball. She founded Unleash Sports Management where she represents and consults with athletes along with organizations, teams, etc. Sports business along with advocating for girls and women in sport is her passion.

Seeing a need in the community to provide help for athletes and others to cope with head injuries and concussions, Brent has been internationally certified as a Concussion Management Practitioner Specialist. 


Brent has been an RMT since 2005 and is recognized as foremost Radial Shockwave Therapist for Alberta, Canada, inclusive of treatment in paravertebral muscles, trigger points and fascia. He has always focused on chronic pain management and repetitive strain injuries within the sporting and occupational sectors.


Brent will be speaking on Concussion Risk Management.

Calen Jobson, Registered Psychologist

Calen is a registered psychologist with an interest in sport performance and trauma psychology. Drawing on his background as a competitive hockey player (beginning in Strathmore, then in the AJHL and Canadian University), he works with athletes to strengthen self-trust, resilience, emotional regulation

and mental well-being while helping them develop skills that extend beyond performance into everyday life.


Calen will be speaking on  Resilience, Self-trust and Identity .

Angelina will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!


Angelina has been playing tackle football since 2011, competing with teams such as the Chestermere Chiefs, Strathmore Spartans, SCFA Badgers, and currently the women’s Calgary Rage, where she's played multiple positions with a focus on running back and linebacker. 


In addition to her playing career, she now coaches with the U16 female Wildcats and William Aberhart High School, sharing her passion for football and helping young athletes grow on and off the field.

She is a current member of Team Alberta for Sprint Canoe Kayak and former national level Artistic Swimmer. Two-time National Champion in Artistic Swimming and 2025 Canada Summer Games Silver medalist in C1 500m! 🥈

Hailey will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!


At 13 years old, Hailey is in her third year of playing tackle football and has developed a strong passion for the sport. During her football journey she has learned the importance of resilience and commitment. Outside of football, Hailey enjoys basketball, volleyball, and badminton. While she loves all of the sports she plays, football remains her favourite.

She looks forward to continuing to play football in her local community for many years to come, while growing as a multi-sport athlete, a teammate, and hopes to encourage other young girls to find their place in sports.

Hailey will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!


Casey Kruse is a competitive swimmer with Calgary- Special Olympics. She was honored with the Calgary Booster Club Jack Gregory athlete of the year in 2026 and Special Olympics athlete of the year 2026. 


Casey recently attended Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in August 2026 and achieved 8 medals.

Randi will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel!


Randi Collins grew up in a farming family in Standard, Alberta and played minor hockey in Strathmore.  Randi was selected to play at Alberta Winter Games before going on to captain the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's hockey team, a program ranked fourth in the country during her time. She was named an Academic All-Canadian, recognizing her performance in the classroom alongside her performance on the ice, and was nominated for Female Athlete of the Year at the U of S.


After earning her J.D. at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, Randi returned home to build her own law practice. Getz Collins and Associates has grown to nine lawyers across two offices, in Strathmore and Calgary. Alongside her legal work, she is a dedicated teacher and public speaker, previously instructing at SAIT in both the business school and the legal assistant program and educating students, management, employees, and community audiences on a wide range of legal subjects. She also serves on the board for the Wheatland and Area Hospice Society and on the board of the Wheatland Wranglers.  She remains deeply involved in youth sport in Strathmore coaching girls' hockey through both the winter and spring seasons, and coaching fastpitch with the Strathmore Thunder.

    Nicole graduated with a diploma in Natural Nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2015. 


    She has gained vast experience in the last 9 years by working with clients, helping them creating healthy habits, and developing meal plans to help obtain these goals. 


    Nicole also operated a local business "Back to Good Market."


    Nicole will be presenting a talk called "Consistency beats Perfection."

    Erin has always had a keen passion for sports, starting as a student athletic trainer of the Cougars Women’s Basketball team.

    She has been playing football since 2002, most notably with the Calgary Rage team and Team Canada (2010 & 2013 - Silver Medalist at IFAF Women’s World Championship), Team Alberta (2016 - Bronze in Women’s Canada National Cup) and was included in the 2022 Team Canada try-outs.

    Erin loves applying her education, life-experiences and athletic background to help people improve their quality of life by getting more active & will be speaking on the topic of RESILIENCY & will be joining our Athlete Interview Panel.
