PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY

Why Pelvic Floor Therapy?

Do you pee a little when you laugh? cough? run? jump?

Incontinence affects both men and women and can worsen with age!

Pelvic Floor Therapy is a way to treat pelvic floor dysfunction as well as sexual health.

Benefits are an enhanced pelvic floor muscle strength, improved bladder control, reduced urinary incontinence, and increased sexual satisfaction.

INCONTINENCE

For Men

1 in 6 men under the age of 40 have urinary incontinence!

As men age, they lose testosterone, strength, muscle mass, gain weight and start having urination and prostate issues. A weakened pelvic floor and diminished muscle tone after prostate surgery often result in bladder leakage and frequent urination.

For Women

34% of female high school athletes reported incontinence !

4 years after delivery of their 1st child: 30% reported urinary incontinence and 7% reported fecal incontinence. Long labours and carrying large babies increased the incidence of these.

1 year after a hysterectomy, 33% of women had pelvic pain

SEXUAL HEALTH

Many men find it challenging to communicate about erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence with their partners.

This leads to strained relationships and creates emotional barriers that impact overall sexual satisfaction.

The loss of pelvic floor strength leads to common sexual health concerns for women.

These concerns include physical discomfort, body image concerns, reduced sex drive and strained relationships.

Improving your pelvic floor strength helps with physical benefits, as well as personal confidence and improved intimacy.

Benefits for men are:

  • stronger, fuller erections
  • ejaculation control
  • increased sexual satisfaction

Benefits for women are:

  • improved lubrication
  • vaginal tone & tightness
  • greater sexual satisfaction

What is Pelvic Floor Therapy?

What is the technology?

We utilise the innovative technology of the Pelvic Chair, a non-invasive "high intensity focused electro magnetic" (HIFEM) field device, combined with Shockwave Therapy and Bemer technology to help you feel more confident in your daily life.

The Pelvic Chair allows you to sit comfortably while the treatment targets the muscles responsible for bladder control and pelvic support.

What's involved in the treatment?

Our trained Therapist will assess and build a protocol designed for your needs.

The non-invasive/non-surgical treatment is typically quick and painless, most sessions last approximately 30 minutes.

During the treatment, electromagnetic waves penetrate the targeted muscles, these contractions strengthen, re-educate and improve circulation of the pelvic floor.

How long does it last?

The need for maintenance will vary from patient to patient. We do recommend a follow up visit 6-months after completing the package treatments in order to ensure the best results.
